The DIR® Concept for manual-clinical and instrumental functional diagnostics has been thoroughly examined and is continuously reviewed in light of new research interests. Users and scientists have long validated the DIR® procedure in a number of different studies. But one of the causes that the “Society for Functional Diagnostics” (DIR® System GmbH & Co. KG) continues to promote is interdisciplinary research. Research projects that it currently supports include studies on orthodontics, prosthetic materials and radiology (e.g. using MRI to assess the physiological positioning of condyles).
